GetWayRoute planner

GetWay Privacy Policy

Effective date: 29 September 2026

This privacy policy explains what personal data the GetWay route planner app (“Route Planner - GetWay” on Google Play and the App Store) collects, why, who receives it, how long we keep it and how you can delete it.

It applies to the GetWay apps for Android and iPhone, including the older 1.x versions, and to the GetWay web pages that link to it. It replaces the earlier GetWay privacy policy.

In short

1. Who we are

GetWay is developed and operated by Logi Way (“we”, “us”), the developer shown on Google Play. On the Apple App Store the app is sold under the name Yona Lurie. We are responsible for (the “controller” of) the personal data described in this policy.

Contact: getway.office@gmail.com · Postal address: 1235 Jefferson Ave, Unit 310, Redwood City, CA 94062, United States.

2. The data we collect and why

The table below lists every kind of personal data that leaves your device when you use GetWay, what we use it for, and whether you have to provide it.

Account information

What we collect
  • E-mail address and password, when you register or sign in.
  • Phone number, if you enter it during quick registration.
  • An account ID and a sign-in token created by our server.
  • Your settings, such as language, time zone, default start and end points and route preferences. If you entered them in an older version: your name, company name and number of vehicles.
  • Sign in with Apple (iPhone only): your Apple user ID and, if you choose to share them, your name and e-mail address (which can be an Apple private relay address).
Why we use it
To create your account, sign you in, keep your routes and settings in sync across your devices, manage your subscription, and send you service messages such as password reset e-mails, login details for team members and answers to your requests.
Do you have to provide it?
Your e-mail address is required to register and sign in. Older versions of GetWay and team accounts always need it; newer versions of GetWay 2.0 also let you start in guest mode without one (see below). The account ID and sign-in token are required. Your phone number and other profile details are optional.

Device and other identifiers

What we collect
  • A random install ID created by the app for your guest account.
  • Your device’s Android ID (Android) or identifier for vendor (iPhone), when you use quick registration or sign in without a password, so that your account recognizes your device.
  • A device lock token for team (group) accounts, so that each team seat is used on one device at a time.
  • A random installation ID that the app-update service (Expo) receives when the app checks for updates.
  • A pseudonymous identifier that the Google Maps SDK uses to count active users.
  • GetWay 2.0 does not use the advertising ID.
Why we use it
To run guest accounts and quick sign-in, keep accounts secure, enforce team subscriptions, deliver app updates and, for Google, measure use of the map service.
Do you have to provide it?
Required. The app cannot work without an account or install ID.

Location

What we collect
  • The precise and approximate location of your device, only while you use the app and only if you allow location access.
  • Your country or region (from your device settings or your start address), attached to support requests.
Why we use it
To show where you are on the map, start routes and directions from your current position, and find the address of your position. If you have not set them yourself, the app saves your current position (coordinates and address) in your account as the default start and end point of your routes.
Do you have to provide it?
Optional. You can refuse or turn off location access in your device settings and type addresses instead. GetWay does not track your location in the background and does not keep a history of your movements.

Addresses, stops and route details

What we collect
  • The addresses of your stops, your start and end points, and your favorite routes and their names.
  • Details you add to a stop, such as a customer’s name and phone number, notes and delivery time windows.
  • The order and status of your stops, and the routes created by optimization.
Why we use it
This is the core of the service: to save, optimize, show and navigate your routes, and to keep them in sync across your devices.
Do you have to provide it?
Addresses are needed to plan routes. Customer names, phone numbers and notes are optional.

Address search

What we collect
  • The text you type in the address search box, or dictate into it (see “Voice input” below).
Why we use it
Search text is sent to Google Places to suggest matching addresses. We do not store your search text on our servers, only the address you choose.
Do you have to provide it?
Optional.

Purchases and subscriptions

What we collect
  • The product you bought, the purchase or transaction ID, the purchase token or receipt, the purchase status and the subscription dates.
  • For team subscriptions: the package and the number of seats.
  • We never receive your credit card, bank or other payment details. Payments are processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store.
Why we use it
To activate and verify your subscription, restore purchases, handle support and refund questions, prevent fraud, and understand how our plans are used.
Do you have to provide it?
Only if you buy a subscription.

App activity

What we collect
  • How many stops and routes you create and how often you optimize a route (free-plan limits).
  • The outcome of the optimization and subscription screens, for example whether you continued with the free plan or subscribed.
  • Map interaction events that the Google Maps SDK collects.
Why we use it
To apply the limits of your plan, and to understand and improve the app. GetWay 2.0 has no analytics or advertising tools; the map interaction events go to Google for its map service.
Do you have to provide it?
Collected automatically while you use the app.

Support messages and problem reports

What we collect
  • The subject and text of messages you send through “Contact support” or “Report a problem”, and account deletion requests sent from our website.
  • Details attached automatically to support messages: account ID, e-mail address, platform, operating-system version, device model, app version and build, language, country and subscription status.
Why we use it
To answer you and solve the problem.
Do you have to provide it?
Optional. Only when you contact us.

Diagnostics and technical data

What we collect
  • Technical data that comes with every request to our servers, such as IP address, app version and platform.
  • Crash reports and performance data that the Google Maps SDK collects about its own components. GetWay itself has no crash-reporting tool.
Why we use it
To operate and protect our servers, investigate abuse, deliver the right app updates and, for Google, keep the map service reliable.
Do you have to provide it?
Collected automatically.

Team (group) accounts

What we collect
  • If you manage a team subscription: the e-mail addresses of the team members you add. Our server creates their accounts and e-mails them their login details.
Why we use it
To give your team members access to GetWay.
Do you have to provide it?
Optional. Only for team subscriptions. Please let your team members know about this policy.

Connection to your employer’s dispatch system

What we collect
  • If your employer uses the Baldar delivery dispatch system and you enter your company code and driver code: the deliveries assigned to you, and the delivery updates the app sends back to that system.
Why we use it
At your request, to plan the deliveries your employer assigned to you.
Do you have to provide it?
Optional.

Voice input

When you tap the microphone, the speech-recognition service of your device (Google on Android, Apple on iPhone) turns what you say into text, under that provider’s privacy policy; depending on the device, it may process the audio on the provider’s servers. This is a service of your device, not of GetWay: the app receives only the resulting text and uses it like typed search text. We never record, upload or store audio, so voice is not data GetWay collects. You can turn off microphone access in your device settings at any time.

Guest mode

In newer versions of GetWay 2.0, if you start without registering, the app creates a guest account on our server. It is identified by a random install ID created by the app and by a placeholder address ending in @guest.getway.invalid, which is not a real e-mail address. Your routes are saved in the guest account. While you use it, you can delete its routes yourself or ask us to delete the whole guest account through “Contact support” in the app. If you later register or sign in to another account, the app offers to copy your planned routes into that account; the guest account then stays on our server unused, with the routes you created as a guest. We delete guest accounts and their data after 12 months without use.

Data that stays on your device

So that it works offline, the app keeps some data on your device: your routes, settings, favorites, recent places, directions (for up to 30 days) and requests waiting to be sent. This data is removed from the device when you log out or uninstall the app. On Android, if device backup is on, the system may include app data in your backup to your Google account.

If you enter information about other people, such as your customers’ names and phone numbers, make sure you are allowed to do so. We use it only to provide the service to you.

3. What we do not collect

GetWay does not access your contacts, photos or videos, files, calendar, SMS or call log, health data, web browsing history or the list of apps on your device. GetWay 2.0 does not use the advertising ID, has no advertising or analytics SDK, and has no crash-reporting tool of its own (the Google Maps SDK collects its own crash data, as described above). We never receive your payment card details.

4. How we use your data

We do not sell your personal data, we do not use it for targeted advertising, and we do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.

Legal bases (European Economic Area, United Kingdom and similar laws)

5. Who receives your data

We do not sell your personal data. We disclose it to the service providers below, which process it on our behalf to run GetWay. Google Maps Platform is the exception: Google receives the search text, addresses, coordinates and Maps SDK data as an independent controller and uses them under its own privacy policy (see below the table). The older 1.x versions also shared data with Meta and Google Analytics, as described in Older app versions (1.x). Other cases are listed after the table.

Google Maps features in GetWay are subject to the Google Maps / Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and Google uses the data it receives under the Google Privacy Policy. Our service providers may use your data only to provide their services to us, and must protect it at least as well as this policy does. Google, Apple and, in the 1.x versions, Meta use the data they receive under their own privacy policies, linked in this section and in Older app versions (1.x).

Other cases

6. Older app versions (1.x)

Some devices still run GetWay 1.x (version 1.1.30 on Android and 1.0.x on iPhone). Until everyone has moved to GetWay 2.0, these older versions also:

GetWay 2.0 contains none of these tools. Update the app to version 2.0 or later to stop them. We will remove this section once version 1.x is no longer in use.

7. How long we keep your data

DataHow long we keep it
Account, routes, stops, favorites and settings (registered and guest accounts)As long as your account exists; a guest account at most 12 months after its last use. After a confirmed deletion request, we delete them within 30 days.
Purchase and subscription recordsAs long as tax and accounting laws require, and as needed to handle disputes and refunds.
Support messages, problem reports and deletion requestsAs long as we need them to answer you and to keep a record of the request. Support messages linked to an account are deleted with the account; we keep a record of each deletion request as proof that we handled it.
Server logs (IP address, device type, time)Up to 90 days (logs of our support system: 30 days), longer only when needed to investigate abuse.
BackupsDeleted data can remain in database backups until those backups are deleted. We keep backups only to recover from failures, and if we ever restore one, we delete again the accounts whose deletion was requested.
Data kept on your deviceUntil you log out or uninstall the app.

8. Deleting your account and data

You can ask us to delete your account and all the data connected to it at any time. The page Delete your GetWay account explains how:

We may ask you to confirm the request from the e-mail address of the account, so that nobody else can delete it. Within 30 days we delete your account and its data, except purchase records we must keep by law. You can also ask us to delete only some of your data without closing your account, and you can delete routes, stops and favorites yourself in the app. Uninstalling the app does not delete your data on our servers, and deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through Google Play or the App Store: cancel it in the store.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

To use these rights, write to getway.office@gmail.com or use “Contact support” in the app. We answer within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.

California residents: we do not sell personal information, and GetWay 2.0 does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The older 1.x versions sent app events to Meta as described above; updating the app stops this. We will not treat you differently for using your privacy rights.

10. Security

All data the app sends to our servers and service providers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS / TLS). Our servers run at Amazon Web Services. We work to protect your data and keep improving the security of our systems, but no system is perfectly secure. Please use a password you do not use anywhere else, and tell us right away if you think someone else has accessed your account.

11. International transfers

Our main servers are in the United States (Amazon Web Services, Ohio) and our support system is in the European Union (Amazon Web Services, Frankfurt). Our service providers may process data in other countries. When we transfer personal data from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another country with transfer rules, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or our providers’ certifications.

12. Children

GetWay is a work tool for drivers and couriers and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 (under 13 in the United States). If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or the law changes. We will change the effective date at the top of this page, and for important changes we will tell you in the app or by e-mail before they take effect.
